Part 1

The responsibilities of any organization are usually under the influence of management. The leadership of an organization like NASA (The National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is linked to the management, and its main aim is to focus on attaining quality performance as it sticks to the organization’s culture. Leadership should be vision-oriented and have quality values that are consumer-centered. In addition, it should be able to cater to both the organization’s internal and external affairs as it aims in fulfilling goals (Luethke et al, 2020). The consumer market should assist NASA’s leadership in making business decisions in all sectors of operation. Kano analysis states that consumer needs are usually measured based on an organization’s product or service performance. Therefore, an organization should meet consumer expectations, have good product performance, and satisfy consumer excitement needs. Only when it has attained these requirements can it be regarded as first-class.

NASA should ensure that there is a good working environment for their employees. Its leaders should be able to work hand in hand with its employees as they sail towards achieving success (Luethke et al, 2020). Leaders must also set the bar high for the employees and motivate them on the same. Employees should also reciprocate by performing more than is expected of them. However, there should be a limit to what NASA’s employees can do towards attaining the organization’s goal. Human decency goes a long way in ensuring that employees are also acknowledged as critical players within the organization. Consequently, leaders should set up an effective work system to identify the employees’ true potential. It is only suitable that the leaders also involve themselves in the employees’ efforts in ensuring that work is done and the quality result is attained (Luethke et al, 2020). Those in leadership should ensure that the organization’s core values and vision are well executed in the line of work.

Part 2

Response to student’s post

There are several approaches that leaders can emulate in facilitating work. The approaches include showing exemplary character in line of duty, decency in behavior in terms of performance, and in fulfilling employees’ needs, portraying adaptive and flexibility skill when handling situations. For instance, NASA’s leadership should have looked into who is being managed, what they are handling, and the end product. Whenever there is miscommunication between the management and employees, the end product becomes unsatisfactory. Consumers are usually the most affected in this case (James et al, 2016). Therefore, NASA’s management should not have monopolized decision making. It should involve its employees in decision making because of the role they play in execution of company goals. Communication is crucial in achieving success.
