Structure
Introduction (1-2 pages)
In this part of the paper you should briefly introduce your topic and the main question making use of arguments to underline the relevance of your topic. You should embed your main topic and question in the most important literature (Hyden 2013).
In the following, you are expected to explain the main structure and methods used in the paper and give reasons why you use this particular structure or method.
Conceptual and methodological chapter
Depending on the main question and methods I suggest to let the introduction be followed by a theory-oriented chapter. In some cases you can also have more than one chapter, if for example the state of research and the analytic framework (including your methods) should be discussed separately.
Main part
The theoretical chapter discusses the state of research, the main concepts and your methodological proceeding. This main chapter then turns to your arguments and empirical findings. This part of your work can make up to 50% of the entire paper. The main part can be divided into several chapters (3, 4, 5…) if appropriate.
Conclusion
In the conclusion you will summarize your arguments, answer your main question and you might also are to provide an outlook which is relevant for the topic. This part will not be subdivided. It is followed by the bibliography/ list of references. Attachments are usually not necessary for assignments or term papers, but if you would like to use attachments, please position them between the conclusion and the literature.
