As the police chief, the main problem in dealing with the drugs would be getting the suppliers of the drugs. For example, police in Montgomery have a problem getting the suppliers (MSNBC’s, 2017, 12:20). Different forces have to be deployed to enhance the arrest of drug suppliers. After identifying the drug suppliers, the other problem experienced by the chief officers is arresting them. The police force is forced to use excess energy to arrest the supplier (MSNBC’s, 2017, 20:54). After getting the supplier, usually, the other problem would be getting the drug dealer; for example, once the officers arrested the supplier in Montgomery, the supplier had to be directed to the house where the dealer resided (MSNBC’s, 2017, 23:18). The major problem would have occurred if the supplier had denied exposing the residence of the dealer.
The main solution would be deploying a group of police officers in the borders where the drugs are coming from. The officers would be entitled to checking every person passing through the border, including the motor vehicles that they use (MSNBC’s, 2017, 25:35). This would enhance the arresting of those participating in supplying illegal opium and enhance their arrest. The second solution to opium dealing is the use of some improved techniques of identifying the vehicles carrying the opium. Such innovations could include trained dogs and other detectors to determine the type of drugs the dealer is supplying (MSNBC’s, 2017, 26:51).
