Design of a pneumatic factory conveying system

2. Technical Report B ( Design of a pneumatic conveying system ) : ( 3 Marks )

The Pictorial diagram shown below shows a pneumatic motor operated conveyor system layout

used to convey boxes to a receiving table.

Design a suitable a symbolic pneumatic system to operate the conveyor shown used in a manufacturing production line by labeling all the components . [ 2 ]

The system uses a moving belt that can move back and forth , a pneumatic motor and a pulley.

Design of a hydraulic landing gear for small aircraft

4. Technical Report D ( Circuit layout landing gear ) : ( 3 Marks )

Design a hydraulic circuit for the landing gear of a small aircraft

The aircraft has three double acting cylinders , One cylinder controlling the front landing gear and two cylinders controlling the sides landing gears.

The gears should extend and retract at the same time . Use the appropriate solenoid DCV and the appropriate components for the circuit to work . Safety is important in the aircraft .

Name the components used .

Technical arithmetical report

Technical report E ( arithmetical report ) ( 3Marks )

Given the lifting table shown below , The diameter of the plunger DP 8 cm.The ram diameter DR 48 cm , The efficiency is 100 %, The stroke of the plunger is 18 cm. The ram has to raise a load F2 = 2 kN.

Find :

a) the force F1 exerted on the plunger , [ 1 ]

b) the number of strokes needed to raise the load by a distance of 10 cm and [1 ]

c) the movement ratio . [1 ]
