REQUIREMENTS
You must write your paper in APA format and cite sources (your references page will not be included in your total page count). You will be evaluated on elements such as the logic of your choice of intervention, cohesion of your argument for the intervention, your tailoring of the appropriate intervention strategy from the Change Handbook (or elsewhere) to your specific research question, and the depth of your analysis.
The intervention strategy for this paper is collaborative work systems design (CWD)

DETAILS
Recap main needs as identified in the conflict analysis
Needs: Environmental Recognition – the lack of the USAC’s recognition of the Sioux people is environmental racism
Brief background facts about the need:
In this case, the Sioux tribe vigorously protested the implementation of the DAPL program. Their protest was based on the fact that the project was not only destroying a sacred burial ground near Oahe Lake, but also destroying a culturally significant tribal site for the Sioux tribe. More importantly, the pipeline under a portion of Lake Oahe, a Missouri River reservoir would jeopardize the safety of a major water source on the reservation and in its natural habitat, which is the root cause of the conflict. The Sioux tribe protested, asking that the construction route avoid the tribal cultural preserve and instead cross Bismarck, 45 miles north of the reservation. and USACE rejected the proposal, citing concerns that it could compromise the municipal water supply. This argument thoroughly sparked discontent and protests from members of the Sioux tribe and 200 Native American tribes. The DAPL case is not only a case of environmental safety, but also a deeper case of environmental racism and inequality.

State strategic goal for the entire intervention roadmap
The strategic goal for the whole project is to increase constructive communication between the Sioux tribe and USACE, in order to decrease the impact of the environmental dispute.
3. Cite one individual need from the recap (in Step #1) and develop the paper by following the structure:
(The paper should be focused on reflection and intervention strategy should all aligned with the questions below)
A. What has been done to address this need so far?
B. Your recommended intervention method and strategy
C. Rationale for this choice (why this intervention and not another?)
D. What needs to be in place to ensure your intervention is successful (for example, training to build capacity, systemic change, perception shift, etc.,)
How will what you’re proposing here be different from what has already been done? Is this paragraph meant to refer to your overall intervention or CWD or is this separate?
E. How are you addressing cultural sensitivity and appropriateness? Are you addressing the change at the right level of the conflict?
Dig deeper into what steps can be taken to ensure that the process is sensitive to the cultural differences at play.
F. How will your intervention be monitored? What are the benchmarks you are hoping to achieve?
How will they assess the intervention? What is actually happening here in practicality?
G. How will your intervention be evaluated to measure success? What methods will you use?
How will participation be defined? What does involvement look like? What will your benchmarks of success be? Asking questions is vague and not necessarily indicative of progress and what will “a midpoint” be?
4. Develop a SWOT analysis and make concluding remarks as to how to mitigate the main identified weakness(es)
5. If you do make mention of capacity building (e.g., training, institutional support,
mentoring, etc.), please develop a specific capacity building concept (additional 350
words maximum).
