Grade Weight: 20% of final grade
Concert Review: A written review on a full in-person or online concert you have attended in full
during the term and that features music related to the repertoire studied in class.
Length: 900-1000 words (this translates to approximately 3 pages, double-spaced, typed,
12-point font, written in full sentences)
Grading Basis: The review will be graded on the following with the indicated weight:
content (60%): see “what to include in your review” below for details
organization and flow of comments and topics (10%)
focus, coherence and clarity in the writing (10%)
proper grammar, spelling, full clear sentences (10%)
include Academic Integrity Checklist Form (in applicable dropbox) (10%)
Citation Instructions:
If you will be citing any online program notes or other sources, please use Chicago
author-date style exclusively as outlined in the following UWaterloo Chicago Style
author-date citation style guide.
If you want to quote from the concert program (other than just the list of works),
here is a short guide for citing program notes.
If you watch a performance online, you will also need to cite your video: here is a
