We believe that each scholar in the Mahurin Honors College brings a unique set of perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences into their college career. The individuality of our scholars fosters the growth and development of a diverse community within the College. Submit an essay describing your own unique perspectives, identity, and/or background and explain how this will contribute to the diversity of the Mahurin Honors College.

Please submit a 500-word response to the following question: “As a young black female person in today’s society, what challenges or obstacles have you faced that have hindered your educational growth? What ideas or suggestions can you offer future students so they can avoid or learn to navigate the same obstacle(s)?”
