TEACHER QUESTION: Why is effective and frequent communication so critical to a successful change effort? Describe either a good or a bad example of this from your organization or one that you have studied. Describe how the communication affected the various stakeholders affected by the change effort.

STUDENT RESPONSE:

Effective communication means that both or all parties involved are understanding each other clearly (Sibiya, 2018). Frequent communication is crucial in change because it shows all parties involved that drive and passion are in the project (Sibiya, 2018). When I worked for a company that was implementing several changes because the owners changed many were left out of the communication loop and left. Communication on every level is crucial for every staff member present (Ocasio et al., 2018). The communication on all the changes were so bad that many stakeholders quit the company all together. One stakeholder was a physician who I highly admired who was actively involved in many aspects of the company but due to a lack of communication they left. I truly feel as though effective communication even in a horrible situation is detrimental to the success of a company even when large changes are not occurring.
