Re: Topic 5 DQ 1
Hello Class,
The Seventh-Day Adventists usually address various issues in modern-day culture. First, they insist on decent dressing that promotes the integrity of an individual (Van Orden, 2018). Proper dressing improves the self-esteem of an individual when interacting with others. Second, Seventh-Day Adventists encourage a holistic approach in providing health care services to people without the intention of marking profits. The SDA religion has established mission hospitals that offer medical services at affordable prices (Van Orden, 2018). Third, Seventh-Day Adventists encourage freedom of association to ensure amicable interactions among people. Excellent associations are necessary for promoting peace and cohesion among society members (Van Orden, 2018). On the other hand, the Seventh-Day Adventist religion is part of the culture because it shapes people’s lives. The members of the SDA religion engage in rituals such as baptism and Holy communion to show their reverence to the Mighty God (Van Orden, 2018). Therefore, the Seventh-Day Adventist remains an American-born religion that influences the cultural practices in society.
