In this Module we have been looking at the concept of Information Literacy. When you visited the IvyTilt Information Literacy tutorial link, one of the links you looked at was #6 Evaluation. At this link you were introduced to the TACO acronym as a means of evaluating the quality of a resource.

Referencing your Parallel Planning assignment from Module 02, conduct research on both possible majors you identified. Locate two websites that provides information related to each of your majors (4 different websites in total). Information you want to research could include: educational requirements for the job, expected salary for a new-grad, possible jobs/work environments, potential for advancement through additional education, and job outlook/future demand.
For each website, apply the TACO acronym as shown in the example below (note that the O does not stand for objective, it stands for objectivity). Don’t forget to include the source of the information including a brief description of the site’s purpose and the URL. The example below is a suggested format to help ensure you cover all of the required aspects of your initial post.
Example – You are researching patient safety in hospitals to determine if policy changes are necessary
Source: 1963 article in Better Homes and Gardens on hospital safety written by a woman who was injured during her hospital stay (http://superoldmagazines.com)
Topic – it is an article about patient safety
Authority – she is an authority on her story, but she will likely have a bias because she was injured during her hospital stay
Currency – no, this is a very old article and likely won’t add substance to a current policy consideration
Objectivity – likely lacks objectivity since the author herself was injured
Is this a good resource for the given research topic – no

Read the posts of your classmates and select at least two of them to post a reply. Read through their post and review the link they have provided.
Do you agree with their TACO analysis? Explain why or why not.
Everyone should receive feedback from at least one classmate, so if you see an initial post without any feedback, please be sure to select that one over one with other replies.
