Imagine you are a U.S. Border Patrol agent supervisor. Your agents
work hard at their jobs. Their stress levels have increased, as more
migrants from Central America have poured across U.S. borders.
In addition, negative publicity regarding this immigration has
increased, especially as it relates to unaccompanied minors. The
discord among your agents has grown, as they express
disillusionment in regard to their own handling of these sensitive
issues. How can you as a supervisor address these issues and
ease the building tension among your agents? From an
organizational administration standpoint, research has shown that
if your agents believe they are treated fairly by you, their job
satisfaction and performance level increases.
“Every company has two organizational structures: The formal one
is written on the charts; the other is the everyday relationship of the
men and women in the organization.” — Harold Geneen
In this course you will focus on organizational administration and
the roles that both organizational behavior and working with
others play in criminal justice and security. You will also
explore management and problem solving in both careers.
