In Chapter 3, we come to understand what a culture is and the elements that build a shared way of life. Those elements include symbols and language, values, and social norms and when shared, they bind us together. In Chapter 4, we see the centrality of social interaction in our lives and how we take on many social statuses and play out the roles attached to them.
The purpose of this assignment is to uncover the elements of culture as they are practiced in our holiday rituals and consider the importance of social interaction for our social groups (such as families or friend groups) and society alike when holidays are celebrated.
Make sure you review Chapter 3 and Ch 4 as well as the Power Point notes and videos prior to completing this essay
