INSTRUCTIONS
Overview
With this assignment, you will select a topic for a curriculum change plan and locate fifteen
scholarly resources for a research matrix. This assignment is designed to give you practice with
locating scholarly resources for an academic topic. This assignment also leads you through
essential preliminary research for your future curriculum change plan assignment. This is
important practice for doctoral and scholarly research.
Instructions
1. Select a topic for the future Curriculum Change Plan. You may benefit from selecting a topic
that you are familiar with through observations within the professional or personal settings. You
may select the topic that you are most interested in researching. For one example, you might
choose to plan for a 4 th grade social studies curriculum change plan. Then, your research matrix
(and subsequent curriculum change plan assignments) will all focus on this topic.
2. Download and complete the Research Matrix template.
Use the Jerry Falwell Library (JFL) to research your selected curriculum change plan
topic.
Identify at least fifteen scholarly resources on your selected curriculum change plan topic
that have been published within the last five years. You may use the textbook, reputable
websites, journal articles, and other books.
Fill in the boxes in the Curriculum Change Plan: Part 1 – Research Matrix Template. You
will record the following for each resource.

o Results
o Curriculum Change Plan Applications: This part should fully address the

Complete the References section with correct APA formatting.
