The CSU’s role is to provide a range of business support services for the ClinicalCommissioning Group (CCG).The CCG has requested that the CSU provide an update of the current scenario andprovide recommendations in line with Government policy to enable business continuity inthe short, medium, and long term.ScenarioASSESSMENT CRITERIAThe scenario is based on six weeks post the United Kingdom’s exit from The EuropeanUnion. The NHS organisations have identified issues with importing medicines and other productsthat require a temperature-controlled supply chain (cold chain). Medicines, such as insulin, and human tissue, which are only available overseas, are facing delays at ports with limitedor no cold chain storage facilities. Due to the ongoing issues with supply problems, the UKstockpile of these medicines is low.Increased traffic congestion around points of entry to the UK is further delaying deliveries, and when supplies do arrive, increasing proportions of the orders are being discarded dueto concerns over the maintenance of the cold chain. The issue with supply is likely to be ongoing.3Group Presentation TaskThe team will present their findings and recommendations during a 20-minute briefing tothe CCG.EACH team member will choose ONE of the following departments to focus theirbriefing on:A.
