They have recently started an industrial kitchen and are looking to hire a HR person to manage the human resource function for a staff strength of fifty people working at different locations. You have applied for the position as you match the criteria, and you are notified there are two tasks to complete as part of their recruitment and selection process. You have applied for the position as you match the criteria, and you are notified there are two tasks to complete as part of their recruitment and selection process. Activity 1 The first task requires you to produce a human resource management manual that will critically evaluate and explain the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to recruitment and selection supported by specific examples. The email will assess how the functions of HRM provide talent and skills appropriate to fulfil business objectives by explaining the purpose and the functions of HRM applicable to workforce planning and resourcing an organisation. The manual will also provide the CEO of SKVP with a deeper understanding of the benefits of human resource management for both the employer and employee by conducting a critical evaluation and assessment of different methods used in HRM practices by application within an organisational context, using a range of specific examples. To demonstrate your knowledge, the manual will contain a critical evaluation of employee relations, and the application of HRM practices that inform and influence decision-making in an organisational context will be included. This will support an evaluation of the key aspects of employee relations management and employment legislation that affect HRM decision-making in an organisational context. You will analyse the importance of employee relations in respect to influencing HRM decision- making and further identify the key elements of employment legislation and the impact it has upon HRM decision- making. Activity 2 The second task requires you to write an informal report that will provide a rationale for the application of specific HRM practices in a work-related context. This will include an illustration of the application of HRM practices in a work-related context, using specific examples. Submission Format: Activity 1: You must produce a manual that is produced in an academic style. This will be supported by relevant academic evidenced sources and bibliography/reference list. The recommended word limit is a maximum of 3,000 words, although you will not be penalised for exceeding the total word limit. Activity 2: The submission is in the form of an informal report which will be supported by relevant academic references. This should be saved in pdf format.
