Step 1: Choose a person in your major or field you will interview.
Step 2: Use the questions in the attached document or the link above, to conduct an interview with a person in the career field you have chosen or may be considering. You should ask no less than 12 questions.
STEP 3: Schedule a face-to-face meeting and record the conversation (I use my phone to record) or otherwise take notes, so you can recall the conversation later.
Interviews with family members will be allowed during this time of social distancing and COVID-19. If you cannot secure an interview with a person in the field, you may use internet resources to find answers to the interview questions.
*Step 4: Reflection—After you conduct the interview, write a 1-2 page response/reflection and include each of the following questions:
The things you thought you knew about the career, but you were wrong.
What you knew about the career that was correct.
How this interview will affect your future plans in the short and long term.
Information the person gave you that you would have never thought/known about otherwise.
Required job responsibilities that you found surprising.
At least one question you would ask if you see the person again and why it is important to know the answer.
*The reflection portion will be turned in to a different assignment section below.
3. Complete After Interview/Reflection
Step 5: What you will turn in. —After you conduct the interview, write a 1-2 page response/reflection and include each of the following questions:

What you knew about the career that was correct.
How this interview will affect your future plans in the short and long term.
Information the person gave you that you would have never thought/known about otherwise.
