“How you want to Age? A Self-Reflection”
Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to assess your perspective of your own aging. Since you are gone through the course, possibly read the book and other resources for your assignments, I would like you to reflect on which elements of this course you would like to incorporate into your daily life to age gracefully, minimize incidence of diseases and avoid premature death.
Content: It is self-reflection paper. (1) It needs to be in your own words and related to your life. (2) Please use discretion in revealing aspects of your life that you don’t want to share. (3) Also use discretion in revealing the aspects of the life, health and other conditions of your parents and other family members. (4) Wherever possible give possible biochemical/physiological mechanisms (For example: “I would like to reduce the calorie intake as calorie restriction has been proven to be the most effective way to increase the longevity and improve the quality of life. Possibly calorie restriction changes the fundamental biochemical underlying the aging process via the following biochemical and physiological pathway(s) ……..[list these pathways]”)
Length and Format: Your report should be at least three pages (8 ½ “x11”), typed using a standard font, double-spacing, and one-inch margins with left justification. Do not use word contractions or quotes. Write your name, date and name of report in a single line on the top of your report. Citing the references is optional. However, if you are quoting someone’s work, please acknowledge the source in the text and give details at the end, otherwise, it is considered as plagiarized.
