Final Presentation

For your final presentation you are going to take on the role of supervisor in an organization or agency in one of the helping professions. First think forward in your own career to the type of organization or agency you expect to work for one day. This will be the organization/agency you will be working within for this presentation.

Next you have been tasked by your supervisor to create an educational PowerPoint presentation on ethical expectations and practices for new employees.

Your final presentation should be 12-15 slides, pull information from a minimum of 5 scholarly sources, and cover the following points:

Purpose of the organization/agency.

Overview of professional ethical code that this organization and agency abides by.

Define the client – provide a clear overview of who the typical client is in the organization/agency as well as the typical life issues they have brought them to the organization/agency.

Personal values – discuss the role that personal value can play when working with clients and what steps they should take to ensure their personal values do not impact their clients in a negative way.

Ethical problem solving – discuss the ethical problem-solving process with an example of how to apply one of the ethical decision-making models. (create a scenario to provide an example).

Confidentiality – discuss the boundaries of confidentially with your clients with examples of times that confidentiality may be challenged and how they should handle it (create a scenario to provide an example).

Third party/managed care – if your organization/agency works within the managed care system or for a third party discuss how this impacts confidentiality.

Boundaries – define boundaries and dual relationships. Address possible boundary crossings and how to avoid them or how to deal with them if they are not avoidable (create a scenario to provide an example).

Competence – discuss what steps your employees must take to achieve competence to treat or work with the clients. Make sure to also discuss how being competent is related to ethics.

Referral – If your organization/agency allows referrals discuss under what circumstances that a referral should be used.

When creating your presentation you should use both the slides and speaker’s notes. The slide should contain the key points and scenarios. And the speaker’s note should expound on those. Also make sure to use proper citations within your speaker’s note to give proper credit to your sources.

The body of your presentation should be 12-15 slides in length and include information from a minimum of 5 scholarly sources. In addition you should have a title slide and a reference slide. Finally remember that your PPT presentation should be visually attractive and look like a professional presentation.

Make sure to properly cite and reference your sources per APA.

Submitted a 12-15 slide presentation (not including the title and reference slide) that clearly covers the 10 points provided in the assignment directions. In doing so appropriate scenarios are created where created in order to provide needed examples.
