This unit’s milestone project involves the creation of one essay and an orally narrated slide presentation. After reviewing unit 2’s lecture videos and reading assignments, begin Assignment 3: Writing an Essay Based on a Single Source located at the end of Chapter 5 (page 210) in the textbook. For the first part of this assignment, write a three-page essay (not including the title page and the reference page). Make sure to complete parts A-E of the assignment for the essay entitled: The Selfish Generation. For Part 2, you will create a narrated slide presentation (8-10 slides and using the notes feature of the slides program) on What a College Education Buys. Again, you will complete parts A-E of the assignment. However, in the course of presenting your information, ensure that you use and explain paraphrasing, summarizing, and quoting. Be sure that your slide presentation contains an example of each with appropriate APA citation. You will also be assessed on the institutional outcome of Oral Communication Remember to use the essay template and APA formatting for the essay. The essay should also incorporate: One or two APA formatted short quotes. Properly formatted citations. APA formatted body text and level headings as shown in the essay template. One-inch margins, all around, as shown in the essay template. Please note: The required page count does not include the title page and references. For the oral slide presentation: For this unit, you will prepare a PowerPoint (or other slide) presentation, so there is no template provided. You will need to create your own.
