IT is introducing a multitude of changes to the relationship between customers and the businesses that provide goods and services (providers). Some of these are strengthening the connection and making providers more “sticky” (i.e. making it less likely for customers to switch to competing providers). Others are having the opposite effect by reducing the “friction” for customers to find and engage alternative providers.  Which of these trends will be stronger in the long term (or to put it another way: will IT overall make customers more or less likely to change providers)?  Justify your position with examples.
