I wanted to play a key role in drafting the constitution. First I began by establishing a cabinet system and inaugural address. The cabinet included Secretary of State, Secretary of Treasury, Secretary of war and Attorney General. Also as the first President I was in charge of hiring the entire supreme court. In 1789 under the act of judiciary I established a six member supreme court. Including on chief justice and five associate justices. Also a part of my newly formed government I was able to enforce a new law that was known as “Whiskey Tax” on march 3rd 1791. Many found it unfair but I was able to negotiate and the law was applied on June.A part of forming a new government, I was greatly concerned about the growing and impact of one-sided parties within the government and the damage they can cause to the unity of my nation. Throughout my eight year presidency I had struggled to hold political parties together. I could never take one side of a political party, I believed in neutrality. I remained the only U.S president who never took a side of a party.Despite all that, I did set up an economic policies with Hamilton, I worked closely with him, such as during the war the states had got a good deal of debt and Hamilton suggested the federal government assume the debt. Also creating a national bank even though this was not something everyone agreed on.After decades of serving my nation, I was still largely concerned about getting involved in foreign war, in my farewell address I signed off a letter in 1796 by mentioning that U.S should be aware of foreign entanglements, the wars of Europe. I did not want America to be involved in foreign wars.After three years leaving the office, I died at the age of 67 in my plantation in Virginia.In my personal opinion, I have never read about a greater leader/human being than George Washington, its amazing how someone would put his nation as priority before his personal or political believes, I can not decide if he would be elected in today’s world, not because he will not be able to rule a nation or a country, but because all the changes that has happened turning humans into evil and materialistic.
