And they continued to inspire architects born hundreds of years after they were built (for example, the design of the White House and the US Capitol Building are both partly inspired by ancient Greek and Roman architecture). Do you think many contemporary buildings (built in the last 60 years) will still exist 200 years from now? What about 1000 years? Will it inspire future generations? Why or why not? What does this reflect, good of or bad, about contemporary architecture? How will this impact future generations and their knowledge and understanding of us?
