Legal Strategy For a Company- Ethical Guidelines in a Business

While every company wants to make money, employ people, and provide a quality good or service, there are some that do not explore the ethical considerations / guidelines that constitutes how they will conduct business.  The companies that do accomplish this do so by creating a corporate manual.  Much of what is covered in such corporate manuals are areas we will be discussing during this semester in our classwork.

A corporate manual provides guidelines for the business in how it operates and how they address employee issues.  Many companies view each issue and how to manage them differently.  These are where the particular company’s ethics are the deciding viewpoint.  Areas that you may want to consider for your paper are, but not limited to:

1. relations with your employees
   2. relations with your suppliers / retailers – how you do business
   3. how you market your company
   4. how you handle customer concerns
   5. how will you handle disputes with employees, supplier, retailers, and customers as well as any public relations concerns

   Create a document, no longer than 10 pages (8 pages minimum), double-spaced, page-numbered, that discusses the ethics of your company.  You may cite examples to clarify a position.  It is permissible for you to research corporate manuals to understand how companies manage and prepare for such potential issues.  You must cite the source.

1. Spell check and grammar check. You are the CEO of the company. If you cannot spell or you use incorrect grammar, do not expect anyone (investor, employee, attorney, customer, (and in this case, professor)) to take you seriously.  I will mark off for improper grammar and incorrect spelling.
