Audience adaptation. Seems straightforward, right? You know who your audience will be, so you adapt to its
members. It’s shocking how few speakers actually do this, though—or how many think they know their
audience, but don’t!
This week’s discussion is a three-part effort:
1) Find a short video of a speaker adapting very well to their audience OR failing to adapt to their audience.
The audience doesn’t have to be in the video, but you need to know who the audience is.
2) Embed the video at the top of your post and then (in writing) give us some context. Who is the speaker, what
message are they trying to relay, and to whom. Tell us why you think the speaker is or isn’t adapting well.
