6 different parts of calculation and theory. Any 6 mark questions require a longer response
The following is specific details on each question:
Part 1 is on Chapter 11 – Week 6. This part will have two calculation questions of 3 marks each – the first one will be on standard EOQ, cost savings & the reorder points and the second one will be on EOQ with waste disposal cost. There will be one 4 mark discussion question that will resemble any one of the three that are listed on the repository document from Week 6.
Part 2 is on Chapter 9 – Week 4. This part will have two calculation questions of 3 marks each – the first one will be on simple moving average calculations for a number of specified moving average periods (including calculation of MSEs) and the second one will be on EMA calculation and also finding the best alpha for which the MSE is the lowest. There will be one 4 mark discussion question that will resemble any one of the three that are listed on the repository document from Week 4.
Part 3 is on Chapter 6 – Week 3. This part will have two calculation questions of 3 marks each. The first problem will be on calculation of average annual demand to justify making in-house (i.e. a re-worded way of asking for the break-even number) plus also calculating either the maximum unit price charged by supplier or calculating the maximum variable cost of making in-house for a forecast demand level [see #8(c) in Week 3 repository problems]. The second calculation problem will be a straightforward application of the centre-of-gravity model of location selection. There will be one 4 mark discussion question that will resemble any one of the two that are listed on the repository document from Week 3.
Part 4 is on Chapter 10 – Week 5. There will be two calculation problems of 3 marks each, which will effectively be re-worded versions of Week 5 problem 4 on the repository document. There will be one 4 mark discussion question that will resemble any one of the two that are listed on the repository document from Week 5.
Part 5 is on Chapter 12 – Week 7. There will be two calculation problems of 3 marks each, which will effectively be re-worded versions of Week 7 problems 2 & 4. There will be one discussion question of 4 marks that will resemble any one of the four that are listed on the repository document from Week 7.
Part 6 will have a 6 mark discussion question that will resemble any one of the three that are listed on the repository document from Week 2 – Chapter 3. Plus there will be one 4 mark discussion question that will resemble any one of the discussion questions on the repository document from either Week 8 – Chapter 13 or Week 9 – Chapter 15.
