Comment cards are often used to measure the quality of your establishment. An important aspect of comment cards is sharing the good news as well as the bad news. The information on comment cards is only useful if it is followed up on.
When developing the comment card, follow these simple rules to ensure clear and concise information.
1. Ask specific questions.
• Were you greeted in a polite and professional manner?
• Was your reservation ready when you arrived?
• Was your stay enjoyable?
2. Ask about your competition.
• If you were not staying with us today, where else would you stay?
• We consider our employees to be friendly and helpful. Would you agree?
3. Have open-ended questions.
• How many times would you stay with us when visiting this city?
4. Test your customers.
• We are considering adding a kids program. Would you still dine with us?
5. Ask questions that may clarify a point.
• Did you enjoy the ambiance?
6. Ask how you may contact them to get back to them on the issues they may have stated.
• We would like to get back to you regarding your comments. Please fill out the bottom of this card and management will respond within 48 hours.
By 11:59 PM, Wednesday of this week develop a customer comment card. The comment card should have least FOUR questions. Be creative, and design a card that would make a customer want to give you feedback on the hotel. You can design the card as a sample that you would take to a professional to format and print. The goal of the assignment is for you to think about what information you need and want to assist you in developing a service strategy for the restaurant.
