Use the title of the poem, in body paragraphs, not the author–Note: For “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock” you can use the shortened title “Prufrock”instead of the full title in body paragraphs. However, you must use the full title with the authorin the introduction.–All other poems for the essay topics should be referred to using their full titlesVerbs and Literary Essays:–In a literary essay, speak about ideas/characters/things using the present tense.–Examples:“The Yachts” describes…… ( not “described”)“The Thought-Fox” follows….
