Written assignments must notexceed the specified maximum number of words. When a written assignment is marked, theexcessive use of words beyond the word limit is reflected in the academic judgement of thepiece of work which results in a lower mark being awarded for the piece of work (regulation6.74).• Assignment submissions are to be made anonymously. Question:The local council has decided to build a new urban park. You have been asked toanalyse the various impacts of an urban park.Use this analysis to recommend ways of maximising the benefits and minimisingthe challenges of the urban park. (100 marks)You should analyse the impact from three perspectives, however your reportshould cover a MAIN PERSPECTIVE relating to your degree. This part of youranalysis should be the longest (approximately 600 words).For students studying a degree related to Health and Social Care the mainperspective should be The Health Impacts.These might include:• impact of green spaces on health• the impact of green spaces on wellbeing• the challenges of encouraging the use of the parkFor students studying a degree related to Business the main perspectiveshould be The Economic Impacts.These might include:• job creation (both long and short term)• cost to the taxpayer of building the park• attraction of new businesses to the area3For students studying a degree related to Tourism and Events Managementthe main perspective should be: The Impacts on the Tourism,Hospitality and Events Industries.These might include:• opportunities for holding events in the park• logistical challenges of holding events in the park.• development of permanent hospitality facilities (such as the park café)You will also need to analyse two other perspectives (approximately 300 wordson each). These perspectives should be thesub-sections of the analysis and the topics of the main body paragraphs.• Each body paragraph should include a topic sentence which links it to thequestion.• In order to analyse each perspective, research from relevant sources shouldbe used to support the impacts of building and urban park.• NOTE: The part of your analysis covering your main perspective should bemore comprehensive than the other points you consider. There is no expectation for students to complete an appendices section.Allocation of Marks •Task fulfilment including: addressing the task, relevancy, and level of analysis(40%) • Structure including: report structure, paragraph structure and cohesion (20%)• Use of sources including: range, quality, paraphrasing/ summarising andreferencing (20%)• Language including: range, accuracy and style (20%)ASSESSMENT CRITERIA• Knowledge and understanding of relevant research relating to issues relatedto the case studies as well as analysing and understanding the implications ofthese issues.• Ability to independently manage learning resources, demonstrate command ofHarvard referencing, structure a report according to academic conventionsand express ideas accurately while maintaining academic style.
