How did stereotypes, labels, and misrepresentations in the media of the Little Rock Nine impact African American cultural identity? | The stereotypes, labels, and misrepresentations of the Little Rock Nine by media badly influenced the cultural identity of African-Americans. The African American were treated differently than whites under “Jim Crow law”. The Little Rock Nine were treated unequally due to their color/race. For example, the Arkansas National Guard and police returned back those 9 students and the crowd assaulted them by throwing stones. Black journalists were bullied and physical abused. |
