Obtain and examine the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTEs) Standards for Educators and Standards for Students (ISTE Web site), and then complete the following:
Leader, learner, citizen, facilitator, and collaborator are some of the international society for technology education (ISTE’s) standards for educators. Educators ISTE standards are designed as a road map that can help them to empower students. In this regard, the above ISTE standards will deeply enhance an educator’s practice, preparing students to learn and promote collaboration with other peers.
Digital citizen, empowered learner, knowledge constructor, global collaborator, and innovative designer are some of the ISTE standards for students. Students around the globe today must be well prepared to explore and consistently evolve to the technological landscape. In this regard, ISTE standards are developed to ensure the student learning is a driven process and empowering student voice (Winkelman, 2020).
Select 1 curricular area such as language arts, mathematics, science, or humanities.
Science is the curricular area I have selected because it is the one that requires more use of technology.
Design an educational evaluation plan for a school district, college, or corporate site that includes the ISTE Standards for Students as its outcomes.
The financial capabilities to purchase and maintain technological equipment, both hardware and software, that is to be integrated into learning, is the main viewpoint of the educational evaluation plan. The above claim is because when the college has the financial capabilities, the students outcomes from ISTE standards will be high (Winkelman, 2020).
What are the advantages and limitations of using data from the following stakeholders to demonstrate that standards have been met? Include a response for each stakeholder:
Teachers; Data from teachers is more significant because they have better partnerships amongst themselves. Their findings tend to be accurate; thus, it is efficient to demonstrate that standards have been met. Regarding limitations, teachers’ data might be biased (Stu, 2017).
Education support employees
Students can do research every day about various concepts studies, making their data current to demonstrate that standards have been met. Regarding limitations, students’ information at some times is full of errors (Stu, 2017).
Parents monitor students as they adapt to new technological standards while significant as they determine the progress, and this data is significant in demonstrating that the standards were met. Regarding limitations, most parents are uninformed about the technological standards (Stu, 2017).
Administrators; their data is significant because they involve themselves directly in the decision-making of standard implementation. Regarding limitations, administrators may not have the baseline information about how standards were met under top management (Ashley, DuFrene, & Debbie, 2016).
Business and community leaders; their data is significant as they normally make investments in schools and regular inspections, respectively. They collect data about every step of how the standards were implemented and how they are operating. Business and community leaders have tight schedules regarding limitations, thereby making their data insufficient to demonstrate that the standards were met (Ashley, DuFrene, & Debbie, 2016).
