Use theory and evidence pertaining tointerviews and another tool to argue why and how you would use these. For example, for an initial interview, (using evidence/research to determine best practice and arguewhy) consider:who would conduct (Company role? Would it be an individual or panel? Who would the panelcomprise?)how many candidates to be interviewed?length of interviewinterview questions (type, quantity)how are candidates prepared/what information are they given? How are they assessed? What is undertaken to ensure the interviews are reliable, replicable, authentic, fair.Include a copy of interview schedule as an appendix.Students should identify the various options available to select an appropriate candidate and developa deeper understanding of the principles of conducting an interview as well as other selection tools.Students will submit the report, in Word format via LMS. One pair of students will take on the role ofinterviewer/interviewee with the other two (2) students acting as observers. These roles will rotate untilall four students have taken on these roles. Based on the interview schedule developed in Assignment3, students are required to conduct a 10-minute job interview with another student. Two (2) otherstudents will observe and provide feedback. The observers will also act as timekeepers. In the lead up to assessment, students may in class develop a checklist of criteria that is important foreffective interviews. This can be used by observers.Students should attend class in appropriate interview attire and suitably prepared. Observers will begiven the checklist and asked to give specific feedback to the interviewer of what was done well andwhy, and what could be improved on in the future (and why). From this simulation, students can expect to gain insight into the elements of conducting jobinterviews. Observer feedback will help students identify elements they may have been unaware of.Students will use their own and observer feedback to develop a short reflection for assessment.Reflection should be submitted online (LMS submission instructions same as mentioned inAssessment 2 & 3 above) and be no more than 600 words and be accompanied by the interviewtranscript (questions only) as an addendum. Research may be used to support these reflections.Students may source and use an appropriate model for the reflection (for example: Atkins and Murphy,Gibbs, Johns, Pfeiffer and Ballow, Rolfe, Freshwater and Jasper).Kolb (1984) acknowledges that people learn best when they have an opportunity to put theory intoaction and reflect on it. This task encourages students to gain deeper insights into the value ofinterviews by 1) discovering the theory, 2) putting this into practice, and 3) gain internal and externalinsights to reflect on the experience.Variation for External Students (When Applicable)External students are to use the discussion board provided on LMS to identify a partner to carry outthe role-play, with pairs to be created based on availability to be on-line at the same time. The role-play will be recorded using Zoom. Students will need to create a Zoom account at:https://zoom.us/pricing. Once an account has been set up carry out the interview through Zoom andrecord it. The URL of your recorded interview is to be copied onto the reflection template; this templateis then submitted through LMS.The Marking Rubric follows on the next page and can also be found on LMS.
