Discussion Board 6
6.1 After completing this week’s required readings, use the fictional dataset that you have prepared for assignment #3 for this discussion board. The post should include 3 paragraphs which can include some of the narrative you use for Assignment #3:
A short report of data analysis findings. Please include at least one statistical test that you might use to analyze your fictional dataset (e.g. t-test, chi-square, ANOVA etc).
Example (Italicized for emphasis): “Descriptive statistics, ANOVA and two-tailed t-tests were used to examine relationships between variables. The MNPJSS job satisfaction results (n = 177) yielded an overall score of 4.3 (range 1 to 6) or an average response of minimally satisfied to satisfied with their job. The highest subscale scores were benefits (4.8), challenge/autonomy (4.6), and time (4.3), and the lowest scores were intrapractice partnership/collegiality (3.9) and professional growth opportunities (3.7). The aggregate score for this group for the ATS was 3.1 (range of 1 to 7, n = 170), with higher scores representing a greater degree of anticipated turnover.” (JUST THE FACTS ABOUT THE FINDINGS ARE INCLUDED HERE–SHOULD PRECEDE INTERPRETATION OF THE DATA).
The second paragraph will be a short summary of the interpretation of findings you reported in paragraph #1. This is not the same as findings. The findings section just includes the facts, no opinion. The interpretation of findings section goes deeper with statements of what the findings mean.
Example (Italicized for emphasis). “Significant differences were noted between different advanced practice provider groups for some subscales and questions. Linear regression demonstrated that lower job satisfaction scores were predictive of higher anticipated turnover scores.” (INTEPRETATION OF FINDINGS)
The third paragraph should be a short summary paragraph describing a dissemination plan you might use to share your findings with stakeholders and the larger health care community.
You may find it helpful to go back to some of the research articles you have reviewed in this or past semesters to re-read the data analysis and interpretation of findings sections.’
