Discussion 1- Finally- you are ready to make the jump and invest in your country of choice (Canada). You are now looking to recruit employees to work in your country of choice. You should put together the following:
1. Use Wage Indicator to identify various employment laws in the country. Laws to include are minimum wage, medical leave, holidays, discrimination laws. How do these laws compare to those of the U.S? What challenges or modifications might you have to make?
2. What programs would you offer the employee to make a smooth transition? Language, cultural competency? Be specific- when would you start the training? Would you offer special compensation (hardship pay, special bonuses)? Benefits for family/spouse?
3. What qualities would be important for you in selecting an employee to work in your country of choice? How would you evaluate the employee’s competency in these skills?
