The country operates under parliamentary democracy.
Canada has a mixed market economy: while it is essentially a free market economy, the federal government retains responsibility for several core services, such as the post system and air traffic control.
The country’s economy is highly developed with a high GDP and it is dominated by the service industry. The country has a population of 38,186,307 people with Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, and Ottawa having high populations than other cities.
The country’s official languages are English and French. Other languages spoken in the areas are Mandarin, Cantonese, and Punjabi. 55% of adults are Christians with 29% of whom are Catholic, 18% protestant. 18% are atheist, 5% agnostics and 16% have no religion.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is the head of state and Queen of Canada after its Confederation in 1867. Justin Trudeau is the current prime minister of Canada and the head of government.
The country has high literacy levels that can be attributed to its level of economic growth, about 55%of adult Canadians have literacy skills. Canada majorly exports Crude petroleum, cars, aircraft, helicopters, and spacecraft.
