Which of the primary sources in Strayer Chapter 1 seems most useful in understanding human history before writing and why? What specifically do you think we can we learn from the source(s) you chose? What are the benefits and drawbacks of using Nisa’s contemporary account and the physical/material remains from long ago to understand human history before writing?
Chapter – 2
Historians often—read between the lines—or use primary sources to obtain insights or information about past societies that the original authors or creators did not intend to convey. How might the primary sources in Strayer Chapter 2 be used in this way, and what might we learn about these ancient societies by ‘reading between the lines’? What are the advantages and potential dangers of using primary sources in this way to understand the past?

To receive full credit your answer must be at least 4-5 sentences (100 words) long. Be sure to consider the historical context of all of the primary sources, and to include at least ONE SPECIFIC EXAMPLE with ANALYSIS from a primary source in Strayer Chapters.

Note: Since I am most interested in your analysis of the primary source evidence in the historical context(s) in it was created, references to the modern world or periods after the time period under consideration will NOT receive credit.
