’d recommend the following commentary resources:Best, Ernest.A critical and exegetical commentary on Ephesians.Bruce, F.F. The Epistles to the Colossians, to Philemon, and to the Ephesians.Foulkes,Francis.The letter of Paul to the Ephesians :an introduction and commentary.Hendriksen, William.New Testament Commentary : Exposition of Galatians [and] Exposition of Ephesians.Hoehner, Harold W. Ephesians : an exegetical commentary.MacDonald,Margaret Y.andDaniel J. Harrington, eds. Colossians and Ephesians.Talbert, Charles H. Ephesians and Colossians.Williamson, Peter S. Ephesians. If you’re looking to pick up a print copy of a Bible dictionary or encyclopedia, my first recommendation would be something from the IVP Bible Dictionary series -you’ll see that they have several different options. The New Testament Backgroundoption or the Paul and His Lettersvolumes would be particularly useful for this class. Also, the Eerdman’s Dictionary of the Bible(David Noel Freedman, ed.) and the New Bible Dictionary(I.H. Marshall, A.R. Millard, J.I. Packer, and D.J. Wiseman, eds.) would be good options.Regarding online Bible dictionary and encyclopedias, I’d recommend these resources:·http://www.internationalstandardbible.com/·http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/·www.blueletterbible.org(click on the Study tab)oA note on blueletterbible.org’s commentaries-these commentaries are very dated, because the website has to wait until they are public domain to use them on the site.I would not recommend using BLB’s commentaries for your research for this class.
