Hindu nationalism promotes ideologies of gender, sexuality, marriage and family that have deeply impacted Indian society. Describe the key elements of these ideologies and analyze their impact on the lives of women and gay and lesbian individuals in contemporary India. Provide specific evidence and examples in support of your thesis.
Requirement:
This formal essay should have an introduction with a clear and arguable thesis, a body with specific evidence, and a conclusion.
Essays should draw from the relevant readings, lectures, films and class discussions.
Essay should utilize a standard citation style and include a bibliography and filmography of references. Use a citing style you prefer – AAA, APA, MLA, Chicago, etc. I will provide a supplemental bibliography on Moodle for readings that do not have complete information in the syllabus.
Length: Essay should be 4-5 pages, not including the bibliography and filmography.
