Violent Racism and its Legacy of Death and Destruction
Thesis: Violent racism appears to be an aspect of a delusional mind set for two main reasons. First, the delusion of superiority is an institutionalized fallacy, Secondly violent racism is the result of cognitive dissonance, when a belief and reality are in conflict.
Introduction
Violent racism has a long history in the destruction of Black Communities.
The early twentieth-century witnessed entire black communities being burned to the ground, residents killed and ran out of town.
“The violence and terror lasted nearly 15 hours.” (Equal Justice Initiative)
“In 1912, white mobs set fire to black churches and black-owned businesses..” (Gross)
The violence and total disregard for life or property was beyond belief.
“African Americans who tried to go to the polls were attacked, driven out of the state, and assassinated.” (Ortiz)
“In 1921, a white mob attacked residents, homes, and businesses in the Greenwood neighborhood of Tulsa, Oklahoma.” (Morand)
“On New Year’s Day 1923, a mob of white men invaded the predominantly Black town, burning homes, churches, and shooting people as they fled.” (Austin)
Violent racism and the assassinations of black leaders
Many Black Leaders have been assassinated to stifle unity in the black community.
The assassination of Malcolm X (Ott)
The assassination of Fred Hampton (Haas)
The assassination of Martin Luther King (Pepper)
The assassination of Medgar Evers (Medgar Evers College)
The murder of Harry and Harriette Moore (Zinn Education Project)
The Destruction of The Black Power Movement
“The latest revelations about surveillance are only the most
recent in a string of periodic public debates around domestic
spying perpetrated by the NSA, FBI, and CIA.”
(House of Representatives)
COINTELPRO, “The program was a systemic attempt to infiltrate, spy on, and disrupt activists in the name of “national security.” (House of Representatives)

Acknowledging the delusional pretext for violent racism
The Ideal of Race Superiority is a Political Fallacy
Scientific racism is the manipulation of science to validate a false narrative. (Winston)
“If you can convince the lowest white man that he’s better than the best colored man, he won’t notice you’re picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he’ll empty his pockets for you.” (Johnson)
Violent Racism, an Outward Sign of an Inner Problem
Racism as a symptom of a narcissistic personality disorder. (Bell)
Racism could very well be a mental illness. (Leon)
Violent racism may be an aspect of a delusional mind set for two main reasons…
