Evaluation is a method of gathering data on a regular basis and then analyzing or ordering it in such a way that the resulting data can be used to determine whether or not your organization or program is effectively completing planned activities, as well as the extent to which it is achieving its stated objectives and expected results.
Managers will and will undertake internal evaluations to gather data about their initiatives so that they can make informed decisions about their implementation. Internal analysis ought to be carried out on a regular basis and thoroughly used by managers at all levels of a corporation across all program areas. In addition, all program participants (managers, employees, and beneficiaries) should be appropriately involved in the research process. This partnership ensures that the analysis is completely democratic and that all parties involved are committed to using the results to make critical program improvements.
The facts and numbers that a company processes on a daily basis are referred to as raw data. Every sale is recorded in a retail environment. A company, on the other hand, may learn relatively little by looking at each sale alone. When information is processed to include context, connection, and purpose, it becomes data. Daily sales analysis can indicate trends and patterns, such as peak searching days or the most popular items. information could be a set of thoughts that support the link between data points. On Tuesdays, a retailer could remember to order additional cakes because Wednesdays are his busiest day of the week.
Importance of information
Businesses are increasingly requiring the ability to investigate and act on information. Because of the rapid rate of change, businesses must be able to respond swiftly to changing customer and environmental expectations. Despite the fact that rapid response may be required, decisions become increasingly challenging when businesses compete in an international economy. Managers may need to be familiar with a large amount of data before making the necessary decisions. Managers can make better decisions with the help of effective business intelligence (BI) solutions.

Business intelligence solutions provide decision-makers with the information they need to make informed decisions. As we learned already data collection plays an important role in any type of study. Specific to evaluation process data collection allows to obtain accurate results, recognize needs and reduce risk of possible mistakes. When creating a research study is important to focus in how the study will be conducted and what methods to collect data must be use in order to obtain the desire results. Data collection strategies can be mix by using primary and secondary data and quantitative and qualitative data. The evaluation process is use to assesses the information gather by an analytical approach identifying is the data is reliable and comes from valid sources, as well how the data will interpreted and use. Falling to use a trustable data will result in invalid outcomes. Evaluation process aid to develop meaningful goals that are possible by using the correct data allowing the study to be in a continues improvement once is implemented.
