French Presidential elections

Who will be the next French president? Soon we know.

The first round of the election will be held on 10 April this year. The second and final round will take place on 24 April. Exactly what the procedure looks like, what is at stake and what the thoughts are, if any, differs a lot between different professional thinkers.

In this seminar, we will approach these elections from the perspective of populism and democracy. Maybe the discussion is or should be about far right politics?

Task assignment

You have been assigned a character, whom you are going to represent in the seminar. The plan is that you during the first hour (or perhaps longer) are going to articulate your views about these elections, from the position of your character and your character is (Journalist from Dagens Nyheter (Swedish newspaper, independent liberal).The character assigned to be journalist is requested to ask 2-5 questions each, if your assigned character is a journalist your task is to come up with questions to direct ask to someone talking about:

-French citizen who is an immigrant from Morocco
-French citizen who lives in the suburbs, outside Paris

Also write a short Memo between 250-600 words,
