Remember that when you started the process of determining your research topic, your conceptualization of possible research was most likely quite broad and you knew that you must narrow the topic so that the research would be doable and very specific.

For this assignment, focus on the following questions:

• Now that you have been immersed in the literature related to your proposed research topic for almost a year, what gap in the body of knowledge have you confirmed? The gap may be large.
• What is the tiny sliver of that gap that will actually be your research?
• Do you feel that you have sufficiently narrowed your topic?
• Why or why not?
• How do you plan to narrow it down?
