Lifelong learning and education are important for personal and professional development and to have a commitment in providing health care services, and commitment is one of the three core values underpinning the nursing and midwifery practices in Ireland. Education also enables nurses and midwives to have a person-centered approach to professional practice, to develop themselves as reflective practitioners,s and to engage in evidence-based practice. In healthcare service, nurses and midwives have the responsibility to support and guide junior colleagues and nursing, midwifery, and other healthcare students in their clinical learning. Formal training in education will help the nurses and midwives to develop the necessary skills in clinical teaching and education

 Module Aim:

The aim of this module is to provide nurses/midwives with the necessary knowledge and skills to play continuous professional development for themselves, other nursing/midwifery colleagues, health care professionals, and patient/client groups.
