You will choose a current issue, read work from a reputable online source about the issue, and provide your reader response. You will write about what the work means to you. It should display thoughtful evaluation of the text and express how it may have contributed (or not) to your understanding of a particular current issue.
A reader response assignment asks you to explain and defend your personal reaction to an assigned text (your chosen source for the approved current issue). It causes you to take responsibility for giving meaning to the text, and contains specific examples from the source that are correctly cited.
