Instructions:
The report will be assessed using a “Conference Abstract” style. Conference abstracts are short (500-750 words) highly structured, and detailed summaries of research projects. They are intended to give a detailed description of a project and its results in a way that academics and practitioners can read and evaluate quickly and accurately.
For this assignment you will be provided with a fictitious outline for a quality improvement project including the context, a summary of the problem, and a brief description of an intervention. You will also be provided with a small data set.
You are expected to do the following:
Summarise the problem and contextProcess, manipulate and analyse the data using appropriate statistical methods and graphical representations of the results.Undertake a brief literature review around the context and problem to identify similar cases in the literatureRelated your results to the findings of other authorsDraw conclusions about the intervention based in your data and make onward recommendations.
To support you in this assignment, you will be provided with a structured abstract template.
All instructions are in this template. Do not alter the formatting – the boxes will expand as you type into themYou MUST provide at least TWO references in the VANCOUVER referencing format
A marking rubric is available in Canvas. I also encourage you to look at the weighting of each segment of the abstract as a guide to how much effort to place in each part of the abstract.
Deadlines:
Your Quality Improvement Project Report MUST be submitted through Turnitin
QI BRIEF 6
CONTEXT
Bideawee nursing home in Anyshire has 70 mixed needs beds, and can cater for later years social care, and more advanced nursing care. They take patients from a deprived urban area with the majority of their funding coming from local authority care packages, and personal care budgets of their residents. They are staffed mostly by Healthcare Assistants and Nursing Associates, and some of them have undertaken additional training to support medicines administration.
PROBLEM
There have been several complaints about missed doses of medication for residents, some of which may have resulted in worsening health. Night shifts may not have enough appropriately trained staff in place, and many of the scheduled medicines are due at night.
INTERVENTION
The Care Manager has decided that all care staff should be able to support medicines administration as part of a holistic approach to care provision and support residents to appropriately manage their own care where they can.

Short Description About the Project
A Quality Improvement Project, often abbreviated as QI, is a systematic and structured approach to enhancing the quality of processes, services, or products within an organization or industry. These projects are designed to identify areas where improvements can be made, implement changes, and monitor the results to ensure that the desired quality standards are met or exceeded. Quality Improvement Projects typically involve a series of steps, including problem identification, data collection and analysis, the development of solutions or interventions, implementation, and ongoing evaluation. By focusing on continuous improvement, QI projects aim to optimize efficiency, effectiveness, and customer satisfaction, ultimately leading to higher quality outcomes and better overall performance for organizations. You must start the work by answering the learning outcome Describe and apply Quality Improvement methodology to analyse and interpret data. These projects can be found in various fields, from healthcare and manufacturing to education and customer service, as organizations strive to deliver the best possible products and services to their stakeholders
