Assessment task details – provide a description of the task
The second assessment requires students to develop a presentation showcasing
their proposal for the dissertation. The proposal can be produced in any of the
following formats but must be submitted as a presentation file (MP4).
• Witten report
• PowerPoint
• Poster
The purpose of this presentation is to enable students to discuss their dissertation
proposals in further depth and detail.
The content of the presentation should contain the following:
• An update on any advancements/changes made since the last assignment
(i.e. modifications to the title, aims, etc) – justification for those changes
should be made.
• Rationale and motivation for conducting this research.
• A breakdown of both the aim, objectives, research questions and hypothesis
• Clear identification of the ‘gap in knowledge’ identified from the literature.
• Consideration of the methodology proposed (i.e. discussion on the proposed
study).
• Discussion surrounding the ethical considerations and mitigation strategies.
• Clear use of academic references throughout
