5. ETHICS PAPER – The student is required to write a paper on ethics in professional counseling (either clinical mental health counseling or school counseling depending on your specialization). The paper should clearly show that the student understands the ethical and legal aspects of the counseling profession and rely heavily on the use of the code of ethics from your specialization. In addition, within this paper the student should relate some personal experience or dilemma that they encountered where they had to consider the ethical or moral aspects of the situation and how it affected them and the outcome. The paper must follow APA guidelines and include 5 references from professional journals that deal with the topic of ethics in counseling. The paper must be typed, double-spaced, one-sided and be at least 5 pages in length.
