56-year-old client admitted through the emergency department after experiencing loss of motor and language function. Upon assessment, global aphasia and right-sided hemiplegia are noted. History of diabetes mellitus type 1 and atrial fibrillation. CT scan and angiogram indicates large ischemic area to left middle cerebral artery. Admitted to medical intensive care unit for stabilization.
