The Civil War made way for a plethora of new American composers during the war. After taking
influence from the very extensively studied European composers from history, hey very unique sound came about during the Civil War that incorporated aspects of traditional classical influences as well as American folk music. Both the union and the confederacy, had introduced their sound and unique compositional styles to this time period. Some of these composers include but are not limited to George Frederick Bistrow and William Henry Fry
I; I will be covering pre-Civil War compositions and influences from those time periods leading up to the civil war itself.
A;I will be analyzing the symphonies and great compositions of the time as well as illustrating the works in influences of the composers. I will be focusing a lot on the influence of the Civil War upon these composers as well as the music itself influencing the soldiers and Direction of the war itself.
i;I will be concluding with an overview of my discoveries from during the Civil War and how this music affected both during the Civil War and post-Civil War society and music history.
