If American life improved across a wide range of measures, why would these principles that resulted in decades of social progress be abandoned?

Kellough. (2018) argued that the principles of social equity, equal opportunity and affirmative action in the public sector immensely contributed to American life improvement and social progress. According to the author, every citizen’s equal opportunities, rights and responsibilities brought unity and equality in America and contributed to social progress. Americans underwent eight decades of struggle and employed multiple measures to arrive at their current position. Social progress is evident in the country, although it is yet to get to its peak. Americans lead better lives than some decades ago. The traditional government structure created room for social progress, though some obstacles across the way limited the process. Slavery minimized black rights and responsibilities. Various researchers and analysts believe that Americans took advantage of the black community and vandalized them through slavery for malicious gains. The report emphasizes the need to abandon the oppressive principles and adoption of effective positive ones. The article will enlighten the researcher about the role the public sector played towards improving American life and attaining social progress.
