Reminder: In addition to successfully passing all required basic skills/content knowledge exams before applying for the student teaching experience, as part of the student teaching requirements, candidates must also successfully pass the “Educator Professional Knowledge Exam.” Candidates must allocate adequate time to prepare for this exam, as it assesses understanding of core teaching principles, classroom management, and instructional strategies. While the College will provide guidance and resources, it is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that they are fully prepared for the exam. Failing to pass the exam could delay progress in the student teaching program, obtaining an Institutional Recommendation (IR), and candidates’ pathway to licensure. Candidates in initial licensure programs must review all study materials thoroughly and reach out to their Field Experience Counselor for additional support in preparing for the exam.
